Many of you like to have cold drinks as it has a refreshing effect on our mind as well as our body. Beer, wine is mostly consumed in a cold condition otherwise, it will not have a soothing effect. Many of us find it difficult to put them in a cold condition for a long period. This difficulty is mostly to the people who are on a long journey. If you also have such kind of difficulty then we have a solution to the problem which is the use of portable ice maker. There are several benefits to this and is very much handy. Read more, if you want to know about it in detail.

What is the portable ice maker?

This is a machine which is useful in making ice where ever you want it. This is the latest technological advance which is very much useful for the users. This is termed as portable because it can be taken with you where ever you want to take it. This is not very heavy like other machines as it is specifically designed to be taken anywhere. This can perform the work the same as the traditional ice maker do but there are some differences in its process.

Working of the portable ice maker

The portable ice maker is has a bit different in its process compared to the commercial ice maker as this machine is different from the commercial one. The working of it is discussed the below steps:-

  • Water filling:

First, you have to fill the water tank of the portable ice machine. This water filling is up to the marked level in the machine as this can be used to take to some other place. This is not the automatic process of filling the water in the tank, you have to fill this manually. This filling of water into the water tank can be done with the aid of large water containers like a mug, bucket, jug etc. Make sure that you choose to have pure water to be filled inside the water tank.

  • Water pumping:

This is the automatic process, in this step water-filled inside the water tank of the machine is taken to the ice tray. This process is done with the help of holes which is present at the bottom of the tank. When water crosses the hole at the bottom then it is travelled with the help of the pump to the water filter. This filter checks the water consistency and passed it to the ice tray. If water is passed to the ice tray in excess quantity then it is spilt back to the water tank of the machine This ice tray is present at the top of the machine.

  • Refrigeration:

Once the water is reached to the ice than it needs to be refrigerated. In this process, a heat exchanger tube is submerged into the ice tray. This tube is less than an inch which gets easily submerged into the tray. Once the temperature of the tube is lowered to very low it gets cooled very high which starts the ice-making process. The process of ice making will start very quickly once the heat exchanger tube is submerged into the ice tray.

If you want to have ice which has a large thickness then we need to allow the prongs to be left in the small-sized ice for a long time. It will make the ice of more thickness as it gets a long time to stay in a cold environment.

  • Removal of ice from pongs:

Once the refrigeration process is completed then the pongs start heating which makes the ice to slide it from itself. This ice is then transferred to ice bin which is above the water tank. Water which is remaining inside the ice tray is again transferred to the water tank for repeating the same process. This process continues till the ice bin is full.

  • A sensor in the ice bin:

There is one sensor is fitted inside the ice bin which alerts the machine to stop the process of ice making. This alert is on when the ice bin s full.
