IPhones Wants Your Content!

Written on March 10, 2020 in Technology

Apple and Steve Jobs just took a big step to becoming the new standard for Rich Media (music/video/games/pictures) mobile applications. They’ve opened up the doors to you…independent “Content” developers. As I’ve been writing for years, Content is king. Why do you watch TV? Because of what’s on it…Content! Why would you buy an iPhone…Because Of What’s On It!

That being said, iPhone has become the hottest tech gadget since the invention of the desktop computer, capturing 28% of the US market. Making it number 2 behind RIM’s Blackberry. Well Jobs wants to change that and has just unveiled a developer program that includes all three components of tech entrepreneurial success; money, software, and hardware.

  • Money:

Silicon Valley venture capital firm announces a $100 million iFund to foster the new iPhone developer platform and encourage independent developers and entrepreneurs to build new programs for the iPhone. (see

http://www.kpcb.com/initiatives/ifund/index.html)

  • Software:

Apple unveils an impressive suite of iPhone developer tools built around their default web browser Safari. Job’s claims that a working knowledge of modern web standards is all that’s needed to code up custom iPhone goodies. (see http://developer.apple.com/internet/safari)

  • Hardware:

The Apple iPhone, introduced less than a year ago, already holds almost of a third of the smart phone market share. It’s 3.5-inch widescreen color display is the ultimate way to watch Rich Media

(music/video/games/pictures) or access Net-based applications on a pocketable device. (see http://www.store.apple.com/iphone)

Now if all that wasn’t good enough, here is the clincher… Starting in June, iPhone will market your content through iTunes and the iPhone itself. Yes you heard me right. Starting this summer, Apple will start advertising all the new movies, games, music, business applications, and other functions that only an iPhone can do.

In this new e-commerce solution, Rich Media will be marketed, sold, paid for, and downloaded entirely though a single mobile device….the iPhone. Developers will get to choose the price for their applications and content, with the split being 70/30 of the purchase price. Apple gets 30% and you get 70. It don’t get better then that!

The Apple iPhone is predicted to sell 10 million units this year, and is looking at (with the advent of this new developers program) capturing one percent of global mobile-phone market. Totaling about 1 billion devices this year, according to Jobs. Do you want access to this growing market? Now’s your chance.

As always I’m advising all Black independent film makers, game developers, music producers, authors, and dot.com wanna-be’s to jump on this opportunity. I’m not going to go into how Black are the biggest consumers, multimedia users, content creators and market in the country…if you need data or convincing on any of that, just review my past stories on technology by Googling my name.

I’m just going to end by saying…we as the creators of American Pop culture need to start reaping the full fruits of our labors and stop accepting the crumbs off the table. So if you don’t know…Now You Know!

We Must Share The Knowledge (Network)…To Share The Dollars!

How to Save on College Tuition and Survive College Expenses

Written on March 9, 2020 in Education

So how is it possible to save money on college tution? Is there an easier alternative to loans and grants? I have student loans and grants, though don’t want to fall subject to heafty pay back fees, what can I do? I am planning for college, though don’t know where to start? I want a degree though don’t want to spend four or more years earning it, how can I speed up the process? These are all questions many people have in regards to secondary education, however, many people do not realize that the answers are right in front of them!

Here are some tips and tricks to help ease your mind. Did you know that, you can opt out of taking a class and still earn credit for that class? That’s right, you save money and time. Many universities offer what is called a “Portfolio”. This is where a student requests this from administration, and does up a 500 or more word portfolio pertaining to the class.

Upon submission of the work, it is reviewed by the professor of the class and administration, and if it is agreed upon that the information is suitable enough, the work is accepted, and the student can “opt out” of taking the class. The student will recieve credits for the work, or however many credits were going to be awarded for the class. You don’t have to pay for this feature, and if the work is suitable enough, you don’t have to pay for the credit hours of that class either. Thus saving the student time and money.

Another great way to save money and earn college credit, is by simply taking CLEP tests. What is CLEP testing you ask? The CLEP organization, is a regional institute that allows students to take tests regarding anything, and either earn a certification or college level credits or both. Here is how it works. Depending on what you are going for, you can request to take CLEP testings, through the adminstration of the university. You do have to pay an upfront cost of anywhere from $65.00 to $100.00. The administration then refers you to the CLEP organization, and you set up an interview.

You must specify what you would like to take a test for. Remember this can be anything, from healthcare to engineering. The CLEP organization will then give you a study guide for the test, make sure you study it!! There is a test date scheduled and a destination where the test will be taken. Usually the location is at a regionally accredited university, otherwise, the test will not be considered by your school for credits and/or certification. You then simply sit for the test. Right after you are finished, your score will come up either on a computer screen or in print. You must get a good percentile to pass, though this varies on what you are testing for. For example, if healthcare, a good percetage is a 75% and higher.

Depending on what your score was, you may be eligible to sit for a certification exam. The CLEP organization will then review your work and submit it to your university. The administration are those who decide how many credits to give you for the test. This can vary between 10 to 7, or as low as three college level credits. If you decide to certify in something, you may also be able to take your certification and turn that into credits also. Remember, the tests MUST be taken at a fully accredited university, in order to be considered for credits and/or certification.

You can do this as many times as you wish, in regards to any class you take, simply request an “opt out” after testing, and still recieve the credits awarded, and the best part is, you won’t be required to pay for the class or per credit hour, on that class! Thus saving time and money. You must talk with the administration of your university, for further details. Many universities offer this as part of their criteria, and not a separate source, only if requested. www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/clep/about.html

In addition, if you have access to the internet, simply surf the web, on subjects and learn from that. This can be applied for both “Portfolios” and CLEP testing. Keep in mind that, not only are you saving money, though you are saving time. In other words, you can get your degree a LOT faster than specified when you enrolled (spend two years for that coveted BS instead of four) ! The CLEP organization is also known as the “experience by life degree generator”, and no this is not some diploma mill either.

One more piece of advice, did you know that you can take classes from some major universities, totally free of charge!? Many places such as MIT and BerKley offer this to anyone around the world. The con to this is, the classes are not degree or credit bearing, though this is a great way to study for that up and coming exam! Here are some sources: ocw.mit.edu. This is widely known as “open course ware”.

How to Make a Second Income as a High School or College Tutor

Written on March 8, 2020 in Education

If holiday spending has left you strapped for cash, or you simply need some extra money for even more purchases in the upcoming year, a second income could help you build up that savings account. Making a second income as a college tutor is a lucrative way to make the most of your skills and knowledge, and help someone in the process; today’s college tutors can make anywhere from $20-$70+ per hour depending on the subject, and if you already have experience as a teacher or counselor, you can easily turn this into a part-time job. Still, many people can get started as a basic private tutor after a little planning and organization. Are you tutor material? Here’s what you need to make a second income as a college tutor:

  1. Find your favorite standardized test. Whether it’s the SAT, GMAT, or ACT, you can specialize in a particular test to help students who want to sharpen their test prep skills.
  2. Take the test yourself. You’ll need to prove to potential clients that you’ve run through the challenge of the test-and succeeded, so be prepared to take the test and share your score as part of your marketing plan.
  3. Attend a formal training program. The Princeton Review is one of the most popular test-prep programs in the country, and you can train with them to become a tutor in just a few weeks. Formal training will give you the official ‘certificate’ that classifies you as a tutor. This will also serve you well as marketing collateral.
  4. Specialize in additional high school or college classes. If you excelled in Calculus during high school, then turned into an Java programming whiz in college, consider offering only a few of these specialized subjects. Specialization can make it easier to attract students, and you may even find groups of students who want to work with you on a regular basis.
  5. Set your rates. Rates for tutors vary significantly by location; tutors in metropolitan cities can usually get away with higher than the national average, while tutors in rural areas may not have access to such a large pool of students. Look up tutor rates online, on your local Craigslist, or just run a national average through sties such as Salary.com for the most current rates.
  6. Start marketing yourself. You can approach local high schools and college campuses to market your services, along with promoting yourself in the classified section. Find out how to place your ads on college bulletin boards and the campus intranet; this is where the students are always searching and browsing, so your chances of getting contacted are much higher. Craigslist is another option.
  7. Pick a standard location. Choose somewhere convenient for all parties, and keep it consistent so future students will always know where to find you. the local library (conference rooms are great for tutors who need to use audiovisual equipment or hold a lecture), a coffee shop, or even a campus hall are all great venues for your tutoring session.
  8. Set up weekly discounts. If you have students who are repeat customers, consider giving them a discount for a ‘package’ of sessions. This can give you a steady stream of income over the course of a semester, with far less marketing involved.

Becoming a high school or college tutor is a great way to make the most of your extra time, and convert it into cash. Just pick a subject or area of interest that you’re proficient in, and market your services to students in your area. It doesn’t take long to turn this into a part-time business, and you can start bringing in a second income in no time.

How to Get FREE Breast Implants

Written on March 7, 2020 in Beauty

Free plastic surgery? I thought at first “What’s the catch”? The catch is it is like anything else in life, its work! If you are going to do it think of it as a fun part time job. The website is set up like a social networking site. A girl (referred to as a model) sets up a free profile with some information about herself and what she hopes to achieve. She sets a goal amount (the approx cost of her implants) which is visible to the benefactors on the sight (those who intend to donate to help the models reach their goals) . The Models on my free implants are invited to blog about their day and send messages to the benefactors. Every time a benefactor sends the model on my free a message she gets $1 (sounds like nothing! but if you send out lots of messages personalized to the benefactors who have information about themselves on their profiles it adds up!) after exchanging messages you can chat with benefactor, continue to message, or they can send you a donation in the amount of their choosing. They can donate $1 or as has been done in the past up to several thousand dollars!

Is it safe?

It is completely safe because no contact information is ever exchanged between the models on my free implants and the benefactors. This includes phone numbers, address, private email address… As a matter of fact, if contact information is exchanged both the model and the benefactor are dismissed from the site. This is for everyone’s safety. Donations are purchased by the benefactors and put in the models account until she has met her entire goal.

Why would strangers help me get free implants?

So what are the benefactors getting out of this? It depends! Like on any social networking site everyone is looking for something different. Some benefactors are looking for friendship, someone to discuss their day with and to share the excitement of reaching your goal with you. Some are looking to exchange donations for videos and pictures of the models ranging from pics in regular clothes, sexy costumes and full nude.

Do I have to share naughty pictures or have sexually based chats with benefactors to succeed?

Anything a model does on the site is $100% up to her and many models have made it without exchanging any pictures or videos. Many, many girls have reached their goals without sharing and sexy content. How you reach your goal is entirely up to you! For every type of model there are benefactors who want to help someone like you.. as long as you treat them with respect and invest time into the site.

How does the surgery get paid for?

When you reach your ultimate goal amount you will submit the estimate for the surgery from the plastic surgeon of your choice. The website will pay the physician directly so the money cannot be used for anything other than breast augmentation. After your surgery you will then provide the website with before and after photos. These photos are not nude, as a matter of fact they will not except nude photos for the before and after pictures. Before and after photos are usually wearing the same shirt/sweater/dress to show the difference in how your clothing fits. You will sign a contract agreeing to continue to actively participate on the site for 6 months following your surgery.

What are the keys to success in reaching your goal amount?

First its important to think about how you would like to reach your goal? Are you comfortable sharing pictures? If so, topless? swimsuit? How about videos? If you are not interested in exchanging sexy content for donation do you like to blog? Then you should defiantly take advantage of the blogging feature on the site. The more you blog the more visible you will become to the benefactors. The more they know you through blogging the more inclined they will be to help you toward your goals.

Whether you wish to use sexy content to get to your goal or not the number one thing that will be important to reaching your goal is MESSAGE MESSAGE MESSAGE! Send all the messages you can!!!! But benefactors HATE copy and paste messages… be sure to take time to read their profiles and send them a personalized message, just for them!!! Find something you have in common and roll with it. The overall most important piece is just to stick with it. Log in every day that you can. If you need to take a couple days or weeks off that fine.. but be sure to get back on the horse.

Also, keep in mind that cosmetic surgery is usually most affordable during the holiday season when people are less inclined to to to endure the expense and the down time. So if you get a quote from the surgeon of your choice be sure that you follow up with them during the holidays and ask if they have any specials or discounts. Even the best plastic surgeons offer holiday discounts.

Take it from someone who actually reached her goal of FREE BREAST IMPLANTS! You can do it, in however way you choose.. as long as you stick with it! I am not an employee of the site or anything like that. I am just a girl who earned the $6000 surgery with the best surgeon in my city though simply logging into a social networking site a couple of times a week. It’s worth a try and if you don’t like it you are always welcome to delete your profile.

How to Dye Your Eyebrows

Written on March 6, 2020 in Beauty

It’s a wonderful acknowledgment that you are able to change your appearance in many ways. You have makeup, plastic surgery, hair dye, etc. Many women and men take advantage of this because it’s nice to be able to change your style and experiment with your look.

Today we are going to talk about eyebrow coloring. Why? As you change the color of the hair on top of your head, you will also need to change the color of your eyebrows. But eyebrow coloring can be a tad trickier than coloring a head of hair.

Coloring your eyebrows is more or less of a challenge. One – you are dealing with a sensitive area; your eyes. If any of that dye drips of and gets in your eyes, it will be painful and not to mention it could very well make you go blind. Two – you are dealing with a more common to be seen area. A lot people are more apt to notice funky brows than anything else on your face.

So let’s get started on how to dye your eyebrows, so you can get off the computer and start experimenting. Make sure to follow any and all directions with your hair dye. This is one of the most important moves to remember. Check to see how long the dye can be left on, how much should be applied, and how to mix the dye, etc… You don’t want to end up with no brows because they all got fried away during the coloring process.

Here we go!

First –

Get your hair away from your face. This means put it back in a pony tail or hair net. Just make sure it’s away from where you will have hair dye, otherwise you may end up with coloring where you don’t want it.

Second –

Wash your face with mild soap and make sure your face it dried well. If you have brow pencil or anything on your eyebrows, get it off. You don’t want anything tampering with the coloring process.

Third –

You don’t want to stain your skin with the dye, so now we are going to talk about how to prevent this. Outline your brows with Vaseline. Do not get any Vaseline on your brows because this will prevent a good coloring experience.

Fourth –

After you have colored your hair, you can use the remaining dye to color your brows. Take a Q tip and rub it through the remaining dye. Do not put too much dye on the Q tip because this will cause dripping and other complications. Just put enough dye on so that you can cover your brows with ease.

Fifth –

Carefully apply the dye to your eyebrows. Take your time so you do not end up getting dye everywhere. Make sure all of your brows are covered evenly. You do not want spotted eyebrows, trust me!

Sixth –

Follow the timing directions that came with the dye. All dyes have different times they can be left on hair. After time is up, remove the dye from your brows with warm water on a washcloth. If shampoo and/or conditioner came with your dye, now would be the time to apply the solutions to your brows for the final touch.

That’s all! Good luck dyeing your brows.
